Inspired by Martha - Challenge from Courtney

For some reason I thought Friday was the 8th, not today! Oops!! I saw Courtney saying that people were already posting and I just thought they were overachievers. So here I am posting at the last second.

Here's a link to my Martha inspiration: Appliqued Baby Onesies

I wanted to make a cute fall shirt for Anna Kate to go with some pants I had made her a couple of weeks ago. I thought I could make a pumpkin using ovals. I didn't trust my oval drawing skills so I used my Silhouette die-cut machine to make a template for me. (Yes, I'm using my piano bench as a desk. My craft room is directly below Anna Kate's room and the machine is kind of noisy... I didn't want to wake her up!)

I followed the directions from Martha and on the fusible web packaging to get my pieces to make a pumpkin.

I ironed the shirt in half so I would know where the center was. (Yes, our ironing board is in our closet... it barely fits!)

Finished shirt... almost! I still need to stitch around the pumpkin...

Up close shot.

With the pants I made... which Anna Kate pretty much refuses to wear! Ugh! Two-year-olds!!

Next up... a funky skirt out of this fabric!

Thanks for the fun Courtney!!
